Stop Employment Centers
One-Stop
Employment Centers, commonly
referred to as One-Stops, are
designed to connect employment,
education and training services
into a readily available and
user-friendly network of resources.
One-Stops provide job seekers
with access to employment and
training opportunities in their
community and beyond.
The One-Stops also provide employers
with a link to qualified applicants
as well as various employer
services to assist with human
resource management.
One-Stop
Employment Centers provide a
single location in each community
where the public can access
various public and private organizations
to assist with workforce preparation
needs. By co-locating
core services at a single location,
AFWD's collaborative partners
reduce the duplication of services,
operate more efficiently and
ultimately provide job seekers
and employers with enhanced
services.
One-Stop
employer services include--human
resource solutions for your
business, customized employee
recruitment, financial incentives
for training, interviewing facilities,
training rooms, computer labs
with Internet access, and business
oriented workshops. AFWD HR
Consultants can be your outsourced
HR Department. Call us to learn
more at a One-Stop location
near you.
Job
seeker services include -- job
search assistance, relocation,
work experience, vocational
assessment, basic literacy assistance,
internships, on-the-job training,
entrepreneurial training and
customized training plans.
One-Stop staff from various
agencies are committed to developing
a more skilled and educated
workforce in order to serve
the overall economic interest
of Modoc, Lassen, Plumas and
Sierra Counties.

The One-Stops within the AFWD
four-county service area include
the Plumas Work Connection,
the Lassen Career Network, the
Modoc Employment Center and
the Sierra Work Connection.
These Centers provide a single
address where a number of partnering
agencies, each with their own
identity and mission, provide
core services focused on meeting
the needs of job seekers and
employers. The one-stops
are similar to a shopping mall
in this regard, i.e. the mall
provides a facility for organizations
to gather together to meet the
needs of customers. Customers
benefit from a single location
to do their shopping.
The One-Stop Employment Centers
provide this same benefit to
job seekers and employers with
workforce preparation, while
also encouraging each of the
partnering
agencies to maintain their
own identity, mission and customer
focus.
