Business Seminar Series

Employment attorney, Mark A. Vegh, is with the law firm of Carr, Kennedy, Peterson & Frost in Redding. An employment and labor lawyer with more than 16 years of experience. Mark Vegh has conducted more than 600 seminars for employers.

Mark visited the One-Stop on March 1st presenting "Wage and Hour Issues". He spoke to a packed house on the federal and state laws the govern wages and hours of work.

We are very fortunate to have Mark for a series of related workshops. In April, he will be presenting Employee Privacy: Inside and Outside the Workplace. He will conclude in May with Employee Discipline, Termination and Documentation.

Labor Law Workshop for Local Employers

In January, the Holly and I presented "Labor Law Update 2005" to 27 employers in Lassen County. I also had the privilege of presenting this workshop to Plumas County businesses in Portola, Quincy, Greenville and Chester. In February, I traveled to Modoc County and presented to a packed house. In all, with over 100 businesses throughout the tri-county area attended this valuable workshop. For more information on the workshop, please review the presentation.

Northeastern Rural Health Clinics Customized Recruitment

Northeastern Rural Health Clinics, Inc. is approaching completion of their new clinic and administrative facility in Susanville, CA. The new facility will provide expanded medical, dental, and urgent care services. Alliance for Workforce Development, Inc. secured the customized recruitment contract to hire 17 new positions. This positions were created as a result of the business expansion. To date, we have provided recruiting services for 4 of the 17 positions.

Based on our comprehensive recruiting services, Northeastern Rural Health Clinics, Inc. is now utilizing AFWD for all recruiting.
